The Macon County Health Department will cease fingerprinting services after Sept. 30.
The department posted a July 8 notice on its IdentoGO webpage. Fingerprinting is offered through IdentoGO for background checks required by a government agency or for employment, according to the department.
Appointments run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 503 N. Missouri St. in Macon. Registration is required, and current proof of identification must be shown at the appointment.
The department's IdentoGO page also lists passport photos and personal FBI background checks among its IdentoGO services. Registration is required for those services as well.
IdentoGO accepts credit or debit cards, money orders, a business check, or a payment code provided by an employer. Cash and personal checks are not accepted. The person whose name is on a credit or debit card must be present to use that form of payment, according to the department.
The same IdentoGO page lists other locations in Moberly, Kirksville, Brookfield, Mexico, and Columbia.
Appointments are made through IdentoGO registration online. The health department phone number is 660-395-4711.
