County. The Macon County Commission is in session Monday under its standing Monday and Thursday schedule, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to the county website. Utilities. The Macon Board of Public Works meets at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the City Council Chambers. The posted agenda includes a multipurpose fund grant application, a Burns & McDonnell flow study, and approval to begin updated contract negotiations with Macon Public Water Supply District No. 1. City bids. Sealed bids for the city's 1998 fire engine remain open through 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28. The reserve price is $30,000.
City jobs. Street Department laborer, administrative secretary, city administrator, and police openings remain listed as open until filled. The Macon Chronicle previously reported the street laborer posting.
City. Minutes from the Sept. 8 regular City Council meeting are still not posted. The meeting page lists the agenda only.
Beach. Long Branch State Park's public swim beach remains closed for the season, according to the Missouri DNR beach dataset (sample dated Aug. 31).
Church. Weekend worship times posted by local congregations include Crossroads Christian Church in Macon at 8, 9:30, and 11 a.m. Sundays; Macon United Methodist Church at 8:30 a.m. in the sanctuary, 10 a.m. discipleship groups, and 11 a.m. in the Worship Center; and First Baptist Church in Atlanta at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Sundays.
Roads. MoDOT Northeast still lists expect-delays bridge maintenance on U.S. 63 at the U.S. 36 interchange in Macon County. The Chronicle previously reported the work.
