No routine MoDOT closures in Macon County June 26 to July 2; paving shifts to neighbors

Macon County drivers get a quiet stretch on routine roadwork. The Missouri Department of Transportation has no maintenance closures scheduled inside Macon County from June 26 through July 2. The recent seal coat and patching jobs on Route F, Route VV, Route AX, Briggs Drive and Sunset Drive all wrap up by June 25. Neighboring Shelby County is clear for the period as well.

This weekly maintenance list does not include the ongoing rebuild of the U.S. Route 63 interchange over U.S. Route 36 in Macon, which runs on its own schedule. That project has been under construction since fall 2025 and is expected to finish in fall 2026. The roughly $3 to $3.5 million job includes a bridge rehabilitation, realigned U.S. Route 36 off ramps with new traffic signals and turn lanes, signal and lighting upgrades at the U.S. Route 63 ramp terminals and the Business Route 36/West Briggs Drive intersection, and safety improvements at the Kellogg Avenue crossover. It carries its own lane, ramp and shoulder closures, which MoDOT announces in separate releases; bridge work that began in February has reduced U.S. Route 36 to one lane through the interchange at times.

The summer paving season picks up in the surrounding counties, where most of the work is seal coating and patching.
Adair County. Route N is closed between Route CC and Missouri Route 11 for asphalt repairs on June 29 and 30, then for seal coating on July 1, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Randolph County. Route F is closed for seal coating from Route C to Missouri Route 3 on June 29, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Route NN is closed from U.S. Route 63 to Route Y on June 30, and Route P from Route NN to U.S. Route 63 on July 1, both from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Monroe County. Route ZZ is closed for patching from Route D to Route Z, June 29 through July 1. Route Z is closed for patching from Missouri Route 15 to Missouri Route 154 on July 1 and 2. Both run 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Elsewhere in the Northeast Missouri region:
Lewis County. Route D is closed for asphalt repairs from Missouri Route 156 to Missouri Route 6, June 29 through July 1, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

Marion County. Route 79 northbound, Mark Twain Avenue, stays closed through July 1 between North Street and Reservoir Street for the Hannibal stormwater project.

Montgomery County. Route AC is seal coated from Middletown to Pike County CR 423 on June 29. Route RB is seal coated from the Interstate 70 south outer road to Turkey Ridge Road on June 30. Route J is seal coated from Missouri Route 161 to Missouri Route 19 on July 1 and 2.

Pike County. Route PP is closed for culvert replacement from CR 328 to CR 323 on June 30; the Route AC seal coat noted above continues into Pike County.

Ralls County. The long-running lane restriction on Route J at the Clarence Cannon Dam bridge ends June 26 at 4 p.m.

MoDOT asks drivers to slow down, move over and put their phones away in work zones, and notes weather may shift the schedule. Current closures are posted on the Traveler Information Map at traveler.modot.org/map.
